WebDMEMR
ATC has designed a proprietary web based electronic medical record, WebDMEMR. It is a continuity of care EMR to be used by any health care provider (HCP) as well as any patient who wishes to have a SINGLE medical record in which all health care providers can have access to or add to it at the point of care. It is being developed to also be used in telemedicine networks and clinical trials. ATC is the Application Service Provider (ASP) for WebDMEMR.com where health care providers or patients themselves subscribe directly under a monthly subscription fee basis. It is in the process of development and has a patent pending. The final use of the product will be to start marketing the final product after a certification process.
What makes WebDMEMR unique?
What makes WebDMEMR unique is the fact that it is designed to be a universal patient record of continuity of care shared by all of the patient's health care providers. Each patient has one record throughout his/her lifetime, regardless of the number of HCPs attending the patient. The radical concept is that it eliminates the traditional fragmentation of medical care that actually exists today - the complete opposite of what we are used to with traditional medical records.
The Traditional Scheme vs. WebDMEMR
The traditional scheme of health care delivery using existing patient health records is that patient "A" may have ten different HCPs. Each HCP may have an electronic or paper health record for patient "A". Since each electronic system is independent and lacks interoperability and each paper record can only be physically accessed by the personnel of a particular medical office, there is, therefore, complete fragmentation of the health services being offered to patient "A". With WebDMEMR, the reverse is possible: all ten HCPs may add to the patient's one and only WebDMEMR online medical record. With WebDMEMR, the patient has ONE record even though the patient has ten HCPs. This allows for continuity of care and medical collaboration.
Why WebDMEMR?
Fortunately, this concept was developed with the privacy and security regulations of HIPAA in mind, and although personal and medical information is shared within WebDMEMR, all features are permission based. NO information is shared without the DIRECT authorization of the patient through the healthcare provider. And if authorized legal sharing of information is still a concern, WebDMEMR can be used as a traditional standalone online "closed" EMR system. The internet revolution has changed not only the healthcare industry but the way we access, gather and organize information in our everyday lives. WebDMEMR offers a complete solution to both patients and HCPs.
